Taiko Foods is one of the UK’s leading sushi manufacturers, supplying high-quality products to major retailers and food service providers nationwide. Operating in a fast-paced warehouse and factory environment, Taiko relies on dependable connectivity to support production systems, handheld devices, inventory management, and day-to-day staff operations.
To improve reliability and prepare for future growth, Taiko Foods required a full upgrade of its wireless and network infrastructure across the facility.
Challenge
The existing network at Taiko Foods’ warehouse and factory did not meet the performance and coverage needs of a modern production environment. Key challenges included:
- Limited or inconsistent wireless coverage in critical operational areas
- Aging cabling infrastructure unable to support newer wireless technologies
- The need for a secure, organised cabinet and switching setup
- Requirement for a resilient backbone link between core and remote cabinets
- Ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing production during installation

Solution
We provided a complete wireless and infrastructure upgrade to enhance performance and ensure long-term reliability.
Structured cabling installation
- Installed, terminated, and tested 20 Cat6 cables throughout the warehouse and factory
- Ensured each AP and key device had a dedicated, high-performance network connection
- Fully tested and certified all cabling for performance and long-term stability
Wireless network deployment
- Installed 20 Cisco Meraki Access Points across the site
- Strategically positioned APs to deliver full wireless coverage for production systems, handheld devices, and staff areas
- Enabled fast, secure, and reliable Wi-Fi connectivity
Fibre backbone installation
- Installed 1 x 8-core multimode fibre optic cable linking the core cabinet to a remote access cabinet
- Delivered a high-speed backbone for efficient data transmission across the facility
Cabinet & switch installation
- Installed a new 21U cabinet to house active network equipment securely and neatly
- Supplied and installed a Cisco network switch to support all APs and connected devices
- Ensured clean patching and organised infrastructure management
Testing & certification
- All Cat6 and fibre installations tested with industry-standard equipment
- Certified test results provided, verifying full compliance with performance specifications
