Legoland Remote Cabinet Location

Background

Legoland is a large theme park in the UK. With thousands of visitors a per day a strong and expansive network is required to improve visitor experience also for safety.

Challenge

The area that required data had no previous network infrastructure, meaning that new cables had to be installed. The closest data cabinet was over 200 metres away. This meant that a location needed to be found to install a new data cabinet.

Solution

After careful consideration, it was decided that a single-mode fibre would be pulled through a series of underground ducts to the remote location and installed inside a new data cabinet. Alongside the fibre in the cabinet a network switch was installed to distribute data throughout multiple different devices.

Results

As a result, devices in the local area could be successfully cabled. This allows for a greater future development of the area in terms of IT, which in turn improves the visitor’s experience.
